Fitness to Work assessments
Assessments can be delivered by questionnaire, telephone or face to face depending on the role and hazards.
The purpose of this service is to ensure that the individual is safe to undertake the duties required and that the work itself will not cause harm or ill health.
These assessments are typically undertaken by occupational health nurses and technicians, with support from an occupational health physician as required, and can include practical advice on suitability, adjustments and follow-up actions.

Fitness to Work assessments are selected according to the role, the tasks being carried out, the hazards involved and the level of risk. Depending on the requirement, assessments may be completed by questionnaire, telephone or face to face, with input from occupational health nurses, technicians and doctors where appropriate.
Pre-placement / Post Job Offer
These assessments can be completed by questionnaire, telephone or face to face depending on the role and hazards. They help ensure prospective employees are medically fit to fulfil the duties and responsibilities of the post, identify where adjustments may be needed and whether the proposed role could adversely affect health.
Driver and vehicle medicals
We provide Fitness to Work medicals for Fork Lift Truck operators, Business Drivers and LGV / PSV drivers. The purpose is to ensure individuals are safe to undertake driving duties and that the work will not cause harm or ill health, with the level of assessment matched to the duty and risk involved.
Higher-risk and specialist roles
Lone Worker, Work at Heights, Confined Space, Breathing Apparatus and Maintenance / General Medical assessments are used where risk assessment identifies specific hazards. Assessments are undertaken on employment and periodically thereafter. These medicals help employers meet legal and safety requirements while supporting safe placement into demanding roles.
Role-specific periodic assessments
Night Worker, Food Handler, Overseas Travel, Pregnant Worker and Statutory Medicals are available where role, legal requirements or individual circumstances indicate that medical review is appropriate. Assessments are undertaken on employment and periodically thereafter.
